CPA is one of the few companies that supply mushroom compost in bags to your door. The compost is an excellent soil improver and this purchase has already been transported to the allotment and rotavated in. A couple of neighbours were interested in this product so pleased that I have spread the word about the weed free, amazing alternative to farmyard compost. There will be a cost difference but the quality never fails

Very pleased with the whole process. Ordering was simple and delivery was made on the date arranged with no problem. The compost itself is rich and could be put straight on the garden - no thing in it that shouldn’t have been there.

Bought CPA mushroom compost for the first time this year to top dress the borders we are revamping. Excellent quality, smells gorgeous and still warm in the bags when they arrived. Now spread across the borders ready for replanting in the spring. Ordering was easy and the fast efficient delivery was very reasonable in price compared to the extortionate prices others offering similar products were asking . Sacks were certainly more manageable than a dumpy bag and easier to store the add ones left over for later. Will certainly be buying another 20 bags next year as our clay soil still needs it desperately.

I ordered two XL bags of mushroom compost and they are enormous. However, I know that once I start applying the mulch I'll probably wish I'd ordered more, as it needs to be laid in quite a thick layer. I took some from the bag yesterday and it was warm - the large load is generating its own heat! I've used it before, and it's brilliant for mulching, adding some nutrient and lots of organic matter to the soil. Be aware it's not suitable for ericaceous plants, as it contains lime. Great for vegetables though.

I wasn’t sure what to expect; the reviews were good but you never know. I ordered 40 bags as sharing with other allotment holders. Everything went great, lovely delivery man, I think he was happy just to get it off his truck as the smell was shocking, the product is great. There was just pure compost in there, no plastic or rubbish. We will return for more in the spring.

Delivered in correct spot all 80 bags cannot get delivered to allotment due to restrictions of space. Transporting 80 bags by car takes time good exercise as allotment is in middle of site furthest from gates

I ordered this last year and this year in autumn. The product is very good in the garden (would be 5 stars), though I had issues with the crate packing and I disagree with the comments about no smell. This year's batch was quite smelly, with a sulphurous whiff, probably exacerbated by it being hot from the steam sterilisation during transit. Delivery wasn't great, as the pallet from CPA wasn't sturdy enough for 40x75l bags and disintegrated before it could be manoeuvred where needed (despite the efforts and good intentions of the driver) meaning I had an hour and a half of heavy lifting to do to clear the public path where it was left and ended up with a strained back. A few of the bags had also been damaged in transit by scrapes, as there's no side protection, so were spilling their contents as I lifted and carried them.

Very easy to order and was kept informed of its progress. The consignment arrived on time on a pallet and the driver put it exactly where we asked. We buy this every year - makes a real difference to the garden and is weed free. Always buy it in bags and then just barrow them to where they are needed in the garden.

I have ordered a pallet of mushroom compost last autumn and spread across all my vegetable beds. I have observed great results this summer, all my vegetables grew really well and the mushroom compost acted as a great mulch layer reducing water evaporation, meaning I had to water significantly less than previous years. I will definitely be getting more.

I used CPA Mushroom Compost a few years ago and was very impressed with it .

Excellent mushroom compost. I ordered it in individual bags this time rather than bulk bags and it’s much easier to handle. The bags can be moved to where they are to be used and then slit open. Compost can then be raked across the bed. So far I have found one stone and one piece of baler twine in 7 bags. Delivery time wasn’t advised until the afternoon and arrived right at the end of the 2 hour window, but that’s fair enough.
