I was very satisfied with the service- the whole process from ordering to delivery was dealt with professionally and efficiently . I ordered online but due to a degree of slope on my drive, i also spoke to a member of staff who was very helpful with advice. When the delivery arrived, they were also able to manouvre the large bulk bag of compost away form the edge of my drive, down the slight slope into a practical area at the side of the house.

Ordered the organic compost which was delivered on the day l requested and came on a pallet which the driver positioned exactly where l requested. The product was of very good quality and was easy to spread around the garden borders. No unwanted materials were found in the compost. I have ordered from CPA on numerous occasions and always found service and delivery excellent and this occasion was no different. The compost was delivered within a week of ordering the delivery driver was excellent very helpful. The bags were dropped off on our drive on a pallet and we moved them into the garden. The compost itself was more lumpy than expected and was difficult to break up but other than that it looks good.

Our order arrived on the agreed day and the delivery driver was helpful and deposited the 3 x 1000L bags where I asked him to on our sloped drive.
It looks like good stuff without any plastics etc and our plants seem to thrive on it (this is the third year we've ordered compost from CPA).

Tiny issue with delivery but CPA sorted without us having to adapt too much. Pleased with product. Really consistent and without the extras (string / plastic / stones / bits of wood) I have had when buying in bulk elsewhere. The product came on a blue pallet which was confusing at first but it turns out that CHEP actually do pick up their pallets without too much trouble at all. For me this is a better option.

I bought the 1200L bag of organic green compost. It was delivered on the day expected & placed exactly where I asked on the drive so that we could retain vehicle parking. As a soil improver this is seems to be good value for money and I am pleased with the quality of the compost that was easily spread over my flower beds. Now awaiting the plant benefits but have received several comments on the impressive black appearance.

Customer Service was very friendly and helpful when I phoned to ask about delivery. Delivery was easier than I expected, on the day stated and with a helpful driver who put the pallet more or less where I wanted. The compost looks, smells and feels great but I have only just started spreading it, so can't comment on how things will grow in it.

Excellent product, ordering and delivery. All good. I even guessed correctly on the quantity needed. The only minor issue was not being able to move the pallet from the roadside, which was very close to passing traffic. This meant I needed to shift the contents by wheelbarrow quite quickly. A forklift with different wheels, that can work on gravel, would help many customers.

Compost didn’t turn up, had to chase, told driver had ‘run out of hours’ and would be delivered next morning, didn’t turn up again, had to chase, told it should be there within 30 mins… man turned up at 7pm and spent an hour trying to unload pallet but gave up as it was stuck behind some other person’s items which required a forklift truck to remove, he took our compost back to depot. Chased CPA again and they said they were sorry but couldn’t do anything. Compost finally turned up ~4pm two days after it was meant to arrive. Lots of wasted time off work waiting at home for delivery and keeping driveway clear for delivery. Wasn’t even offered a voucher or delivery charge refund. Terrible customer service. Would not recommend this company again.

This was my third pallet load of green compost as I have been very impressed with the quality. Used as a mulch and soil improver. A few bits of plastic in it, as advised, but very little in fact. A straightforward delivery, had to move by hand, but made easy by ordering bags, so easy to move around the garden. Also ordered some John innes number three, Not quite so impressed with the value for money, but nevertheless good quality.

How many lorries does it take to deliver 2 bulk bags? 2 - one to get to the destination and one to offload it as the first didn’t have a fork! BA-BOOM!! It got placed exactly where I needed it though. Getting past the bizarre delivery, the compost is good quality with only a very small percentage of large stones, clay and soil. Would use again.

Lovely product. Nice structure. I used it as a mulch. It's very dark, which really accentuates the plants. I've now used three different products from CPA as a mulch:
Mushroom compost - good product and the most economical. Slight downside is it doesn't look as good (cosmetically) as the other two.
Composted bark fines - looks fantastic, but is the most expensive. When it's wet it smells like a pine forest.
Organic green compost - also looks fantastic, but is cheaper than the bark fines. I think this has the best overall balance of the three in terms of product quality, price and appearance.
That said, I'd recommend all of them. And I think - entirely anecdotally - that swapping your choice of mulch every so often is probably good for your soils balance too.

3 x 1000L bags of compost were delivered to our home on the agreed date. The driver managed to get all three bags onto our sloped drive so it was not in the way of our neighbours. We used CPA Horticulture last year too, and the compost seems to be good quality.

Ordered another 3 full pallets this winter to mulch a tired old garden with hard clay soil. Tried this last year and preferred it to the Mushroom compost we used last winter. It's fine and well rotted, and because it's so dark it makes the plants stand out too.
It's gone up about 20% in price since last year which made me think twice, but it's still cheaper than anywhere else if you buy in full pallets, and the bags work for us as it's easier to carry through the garage to the back garden.
Delivery was on the arranged day, although the courier struggled to get the pallets off the truck due to the weight.

My second purchase from CPA. The 60 bag pallet arrived as expected with a requested call ahead so I could be there to receive. The compost is black gold and looks, feels and smells as it should. I had great veg last season as a result of CPA mushroom compost, I am in no doubt I will have similar success this season with the organic green composty (weather permitting)

This was my second order from CPA (different product now) - very satisfied with the quality in both cases.
Compost looks very good - mixed with a bit of water (as it seemed a little dry) - there was a bit of smell but this has gone after couple of days - dark charcoal (nearly black) colour – looks great at borders!
Delivery was good and on the day agreed - the person made a great effort to move as close to our house as possible on a not that solid surface.

Very dark, very fine compost. Well rotted, and if anything maybe a little dry as had to water it after spreading, but it made moving the bags easier I suppose!

Wrong sized lorry turned up and couldn’t access the property so had to drop pallet at the curbside which meant we had to move it all that day. Luckily we had ordered 40ltr bags which are a great size if doing it yourself. Quality appears as good as ever but won’t really know until we see how the plants react in the spring. Have used CPA on several occasions and never been disappointed - just need to get your couriers sorted!

Compost delivered on time and with tracking information. Appeared to be good quality; good texture. The compost was compacted by it's own weight, so there is more than you think. I managed to get a good covering for a strip about 20m x 2m (40sqm). Looks good.
According to my calculations, there isn't much of a cost saving for buying in bulk when compared with individual bags from garden centres. However, it saves a lot of plastic bags and is a good way to get the job done.

My order of 65 bags of green compost arrived on one pallet - the driver left the delivery on the kerbside as it was physically impossible to move with a pump truck. In the process of trying to move it to a more secure location I broke my pump truck. The bags had to be hand balled off - I have not had a chance to check if all 65 are there yet but that it what I spending the rest of my morning doing. I shall be contacting CPA sales direct on this appalling health and safety issue, but as it is just me it might be a while before I am physically able to summon up the strength to pull together enough words without being too disrespectful....
