This growing medium is a blend of Crushed Brick, Leca 4-10mm PAS100 Green compost.
The virgin crushed brick is sourced directly from brick manufacturers. Bricks from demolition sites are not used to avoid any contamination with mortar. Brick increases porosity and enhances water retention.
The high proportion of Leca, a light expanded clay aggregate, reduces density and enhances drainage characteristics.
Green compost is produced to meet the PAS100 specification. It provides the level of nutrient required to establish and sustain plant growth on this type of roof garden.
The material is free flowing, safe, easy to handle and is available in loose bulk loads or bulk bags.
